Competition rules

The competition will be governed by the rules of Japan Orienteering Association (JOA) and instructions given by organizer.

Terrains

All terrain orienteering competitions will be arranged in the Tomatoh industrial area “Kashiwabara”, located in border of Tomakomai city nearby Hidaka expressway. 

Terrain in the Tomatoh “Kashiwabara” area is mainly flat terrain with good runability and technically demanding orienteering. The new maps are made by Kenichi Yamada and Keiya Matsumoto (Sapporo Orienteering Club).

Embargoed areas

Organizer will set a full embargo on the competition areas in the Tomatoh “Kashiwabara” Industrial area prior to the competition. 

Entry fees

Entry fee payments shall be made the international remittance.

M/W 21E                 4,500 JPY (College student 3,000 JPY)

M/W 21A older        4,000 JPY (College student 2,500 JPY)

M/W 20A earlier      2,500 JPY (High school student and earlier 2,000 JPY)

M/W 12                   1,000 JPY (Elementary school student and earlier only)

B and N classes      2,500 JPY 
                               (College student 2,000 JPY. High school student and earlier 1,500 JPY)
                               Add 1 persons plus 1,000 JPY (All ages)

EMIT card rental     300 JPY/day

Day 2 Long distance competition.

M/W 21E                 6,000 JPY (College student 4,500 JPY)

M/W 21A older        5,500 JPY (College student 4,000 JPY)

M/W 20A earlier      4,000 JPY (High school student and earlier 2,500 JPY)

M/W 12                   1,500 JPY (Elementary school student and earlier only)

Notice:
  • Entry fee is included the official bus transportation between competition center and start, finish areas.
  •  The college student is not involved the masters and doctors student. 

 

The on-site registration

We can’t accept the on-site entry for foreigners, sorry.

Cancelling entry.

If you cancel your participation before 31st of May 2018, organizer will refund your participation fee without financial costs.
After 1st of June 2018, we don’t refund your participation fee if any other reason. 

Emit punching system

The Emit punching system will be used in all categories. Provide the number of your own Emit card in connection of your registration. Otherwise, the organizer will issue you with a rental card for 300 JPY /day.

The organizer charges 9,000JPY for unreturned Emit cards.

Middle and Long course lengths are based on the instructions of Japan Orienteering Association. Course lengths will be released on the bulletin 2 July.

Notice:

  • M=Male, W=female
  • Female orienteer can entry male classes if you want.
  • Organizer may integrate classes within few participants.
  • ALL participants will be assigned your start time in advance.

B (easy class), N (beginner)

Only B and N classes, you can entry more than one person.

Competition centres

The competition center is “Shinei koen park” nearby “Dynax Numanohata Ice Arenar” located in Hokueicho 3 Tomakomai city about 500m north-west from “Numanohata station (H17)” the JR Hokkaido railway.

Accommodation

Organizer will not produce your accommodation in officially.
Please get accommodation your own search. But the hoteles of central Tomakomai are very crowded because of another ice hockey events.
So we recommend you will book accommodation as soon as possible.

Training opportunities is not available. Sorry.

Competition maps

Competition maps (Day 1) are inkjet printed in July 2018.
The scale of the maps is 1:10,000 with a contour interval of 5 m.
The size of the map is A4. The maps will be inside a plastic cover. 
Competition maps (Day 2) are inkjet printed in July 2018.
The scale of the maps is 1:15,000 with a contour interval of 5 m, classes M/W21E・M/W21A・M30A・O21・O30 use. 
The another classes use map in scale 1:10,000. with a contour interval of 5m. 
The size of the map is A4. The maps will be inside a plastic cover.
All maps will be based on ISOM 2017 and ISCD 2018. 

Start and Finish

The start and finish area are located max 10 km from the competition centres.
The exact distances to the starts will be given on the competition instructions.

Day 1 middle distance competition on Aug. 4 the first starts happen at 1:30 PM.
Day 2 long distance competition on Aug. 5 the first starts happen at 9:30 AM.

All participants must use the official bus transportation (included entry fee) between the competition centres and start, finish areas.  
It takes about 15min(day1), 20min(day2). 

Parking and transportation

Parking areas are located “Dynax Numanohata Ice Arena” and “Numanohata sports center”. Parking fees is no charge.
Bus transportation from New Chitose airport and central Tomakomai and Sapporo city are public transportation “Hokkaido chuo bus”,”Dohnan bus”.
These bus stop  “Dynax Numanohata Ice Arena” are located nearby competition center “Shinei koen park”.
